Upcoming Event – Halloween Zumba Party in San Francisco (via Zumba Fitness with Alena)
Get ready San Francisco!! This will be a Halloween Party like no other! Get out your best costume and get ready to dance! October 30th is going to be HOTTT!!
In preparation for this fabulous event, we need to start thinking about Halloween costumes that we can wear to this intense, high-energy, Zumba dance party. I suppose functionality has to be a contributing factor in addition to being fashionable. What are you thinking about wearing?
Here are some of my initial brainstorming ideas:
80s aerobics instructor, Britney Spears circa hit-me-baby-one-more-time, Brazilian carnival, Lara Croft Tomb Raider, 70s disco…
THANK YOU!!! (from Zumba for Charity)

This event may have been smaller than the previous ones (many friend and relatives were out of town), but the energy was amazing and contagious! Thank you for your continued support to this cause. Know that you are making a difference in the education of poor Filipino children all the way across the globe!
Til the next event, Keep Dancing. With a Smile :9)

And here are some cute photos from the event! We all wore yellow to show our Filipino pride and hope!

Everyone counts!
I recently attended a seminar for work on stress (which was actually kind of stressful because I had so much work to do and couldn’t afford to take an hour break…but that’s besides the point). What I remember and learned from this stress seminar I felt was so poignant that I had to share with all you. Acknowledge people. Every day make a point of saying hi and smiling at someone. Thank them for the work they have done. Make them feel appreciated in some small way. Everyone likes to feel noticed. And so I have been making an effort at my Zumba classes to make sure that I actively acknowledge each and every one of you when you make it out to class. I recognize that there are many fitness routines out there and you are all busy, busy people, but thank you for sharing your Tuesday and Thursday evenings (and soon Saturday mid-mornings!) with me.
And now I extend this challenge to you. Every day, make a conscious effort to recognize and acknowledge someone at work, at home or at school.

Monday, monday
The start of a new week…I had such a great weekend that it’s almost hard to be back sitting in at a desk in an office again (I just want to Zumba some more!)
I did spend about 3 hours last night surfing the web for new hot tracks to add to my Zumba class and oh, man! There are some awesome new songs out there, so get ready for some NEW stuff! I won’t put too many of your favorites in the vault all at once…but it is time to make room for some new song-friends. I was so excited about the new music (and it was just running through my head) that I could hardly sleep!
Happy Monday!
Zumba hugs,

And I am off this evening (Saturday) to fly back to Baltimore for a week of family fun time with my parents and three brothers – exciting! I was supposed to fly out yesterday afternoon, but there was a HUGE blizzard in the mid-atlantic and they just shut down all of the airports from Philli to Richmond, so after not one, but two flights being cancelled, I am hopeful that I will make it to BWI via ORD by tomorrow morning! And I have a Ravens game to go to in the afternoon (on Sunday)!
Also, the wonderful and fabulous Carlie will be subbing my Tuesday Zumba class on December 22nd (24 HF Potrero Class Schedule). Classes are cancelled on December 24th and 31st. I WILL HAVE CLASS ON TUESDAY, DECEMBER 29th! (24 HF Potrero Class Schedule)
And for those of you planning out your new year with some Zumba (as well as all of those other important workouts like strength and flexibility training – getting in shape is not just about the Zumba people! Although we love it!) I will be subbing for Claudia’s Sunday Zumba class on January 3rd and 10th at 9:00am at 24 HF Potrero Sport, so mark you calendars! (24 HF Potrero Class Schedule)
Happy Holidays to all!
XOXOXO
