Thank you, thank you, to all of the amazing Zumba enthusiasts who danced their hearts out at the FIRST Zumbathon Charity Event for Augie’s Quest on March 10th in Singapore!!

Your energy, enthusiasm, professionalism, passion, and support were integral to the outstanding success of our Zumbathon Charity Event in support of ALS.  I cannot tell you enough how honored and privileged I was to be a part of such an incredible team of Zumba Instructors, include Yannick, Zumba Jammer from Australia.  It was truly a pleasure to meet, dance and shake it with each of you and I am so looking forward to seeing you all again soon!  I enjoyed chatting with you at the meet and greet and dancing with you at the roof top party!  I am still smiling from the pure electricity from the event!

We did have the most massive turn-out we have ever seen in a Zumba event in Singapore and we have donated a phenomenal amount over SGD5500 to the charity of Augies Quest. We are so proud of what we all achieved, and it was not to benefit our bank accounts, but really to shine the light to the cause.

Monica and Airin – sensational organizing of such a smooth, successful and well executed event!  Thank you for gathering such a dynamic, passionate team of ZINs together for such a meaningful cause.
And many thanks to the incredible Kurt, Eddy, sound team and everyone else who made this event so memorable!
The United We Dance event will go down in Singapore Zumba memory as one of the most heartfelt and memorable moments of the culture’s history!

November Updates

Hello friends!

I hope you are all doing well!  Happy November!  I know the fall is always crazy with Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Winter Holidays – don’t forget to take care of yourselves and fit some healthy, fun exercise into your busy schedules :)

A few quick Zumba Fitness with Alena updates:
  • November Special for 10-Class Punch Cards: ONLY $40!!! (usually $80!)  Wow!  What a deal/steal!  These punch cards will be valid through 12/31/11 at Zumba Fitness with Alena classes at Studio Gracia.  November is my favorite month so I wanted to share this special one-time offer deal with all of my favorites! :)
  • NEW Time on Wednesday Nights! We will now be having Zumba class from 6:30-7:30pm with a Zumba basics review from 6-6:30pm (as requested from students, please let me know in advance if you are interested).
  • November Saturday Morning Classes: Please join me in welcoming the beautiful and talented Gloria Perry as the special guest Zumba Instructor for the month of November!  Gloria and I will co-teach Saturday morning classes from 9-10am.
  • Saturday, November 13th: On Nov 13th I am holding the LIVERight Zumbathon at Stanford 2010!!  We will NOT be having class at Studio Gracia that morning.  Please join me down at Stanford for a HUGE Zumba Party with all donations benefiting the fight against liver cancer.  You won’t want to miss it!  Details: zumbathon.stanford.edu
  • Sunday, November 21st: Zumba Master Class with Zumba Jammer Alena at Studio Gracia from 11:00am-12:30pm – Only $10!!  Event info here.  AND my first ZIN ONLY Jam Session from 1-4pm at Studio Gracia.  ZIN, please send me an email if you are interested in attending (alena.groopman@gmail.com).

I hope you are all geared up for an exciting week of Zumba Fitness ahead.  Here is my Zumba schedule for the upcoming week:

  • Wednesday, October 6th at 6:00pm at Studio Gracia

This weekend I am going to Kansas City for my friend Emily’s WEDDING to her college sweetheart!!!  YAY!!  I will miss you all, but the one and only Stefanie Canahui will be subbing for me on…

Congratulations to one of my favorite Zumba Instructor friends, Rossy, for organizing and hosting an incredible Party in Pink Zumbathon in San Francisco on Saturday, October 2, 2010!!!  Together, we raised over $1,100 to support breast cancer research.  Thank you to all of the participants, supporters, instructors and educators!!
