Casting Call: Do You Have a Heart Story to Share?
The American Heart Association and Go Red For Women are looking for women to share their heart stories and the choices they make to live a heart-healthy lifestyle, empowering others by example.
Women who share their stories have the chance to become a spokesperson for the cause – representing Go Red For Women in marketing materials, at events, on GoRedForWomen.org and possibly in a national television special about women and heart disease.
If you have a story to tell, please visit the Go Red For Women table on the concourse at the Warriors game on Jan. 14, for taping. Questions? Please contact Morgan.Holland@heart.org.
Why share your story:?
o Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women age 20 and over, killing approximately 1 woman every minute.
- More women die of heart disease than the next five causes of death combined, including all forms of cancer.
- 1 in 3 American women die of heart disease, compared to 1 in 30 women that die of breast cancer.
- Ninety percent of women have one or more risk factors for developing heart disease.
- BUT, eighty percent of cardiac events in women may be prevented if they make the right choices for their hearts, involving diet, exercise and abstinence from smoking.
Go Red For Women, powered by the American Heart Association’s research, educates and connects millions of women of all ages. GoRedForWomen.org is the No. 1 online destination where women can learn how to make heart-healthy choices every day.
Go Red For Women is nationally sponsored by Macy’s and Merck & Co., Inc.
