Daddy Yankee’s rise, together with the rise of the reggaeton movement, was slow—simmering beneath the surface in the Puerto Rican underground. When both exploded into the mainstream at the start of the millennium, Yankee became one of the island’s most influential global ambassadors.

What are the best shoes for Zumba? (via Zumba Fitness with Alena)
The Best Shoes for Zumba Fitness
When the NEW Z1 sneakers in hot pink, lime and black and also blue, green and white were released at the Zumba Instructor Convention in Orlando, Florida, I just HAD to try them. After now dancing with them for a few months, I am convinced that these are my favorite shoes for Zumba Fitness! I am IN LOVE with these new sneakers! They have more support than the original black and white Z1 sneakers and who doesn’t love the colors? I did have to get a size 7 (whaaaat?) cause they run large and I usually wear an 8. Z1s are available in the Zumba Shop (currently out of stock).
My mom, as do many other Zumba Instructors, find the Reebok ZIGS absolutely amazing. I have to admit that when I tried them on they were the most cushy, supportive shoes I have ever tried. In fact, I liked them so much that I decided to order a pair for myself! Check out the Reebok Zigs here. (And my mom is just reading this now to discover that she was right about something else – I was so hesitant with those Zigs at first! And now I can’t wait for mine to come!) You can also custom color them! How cool is that?!
And why do I have SO MANY different types of shoes? I know, I know, cause a girl loves her shoes AND because different floors make such a difference on what shoes work before for me! If the floor is really sleek then I need a little more traction and this is where my Nike Shox and hopefully my new Reebok Zigs will come in. When the floor is a little more tacky then the Z1s from Zumba Fitness are incredible.
Just remember: Everyone has different feet so try out a few different varieties until you find the best fit for you. Then, let me know what you like to spot in class!
