Pre-Zumba Convention!

Well, here I go! I’m on my way to my first Zumba Convention in Orlando, Florida! This should be a hot 5 days dancin’ and groovin’ and booty shakin’ with all of the other zumba instructors around the world and I am looking forward for all of the fun and festivities. My mom, a fellow Zumba Instructor who teaches on the east coast, is also going so it will be great to spend some quality zumba time with her…and since she probably has more zumba friends out there thanks to all of her workshops and dance groups, I’ll be sticking with her for the introductions.

I’m really excited about the Zumba Kids workshop and hopefully I can find an opportunity in SF to teach to a bunch of little kiddos! Maybe I can do a mom/dad and kids class even? We’re also doing lots of small workshops to learn new dance rhythms – I have african, bangra, hip hop and 5 others to learn! And then there is the annual convention Zumbathon where they put all of the thousands and thousands of instructors in one big room at the convention center for hours and hours of dancing!

I can’t wait to bring back some new ideas, music and routines for my Zumba class in SF!

Good morning!

I’ve been teaching Zumba for almost a year at 24 Hour Fitness in San Francisco and what an incredible and rewarding opportunity it has been. I have met some wonderful people in my classes, both students and instructors alike, and it was been such a delight to dance and zumba with them every week! So I just wanted to take this moment to thank you all for your zumba love!

And I especially want to thank Jeannette, Scott and Alex for saving me last night when my train coming from Palo Alto had to push the broken down train in front of us, which resulted in severe train delays and a sligth panic attack on my end…but yes, I made it after much running and encouraging the taxi driver to pass cars on the busy city streets…whew! When I sprinted in the gym there was my class all warming up to some hot latin music thanks for my three die-hard zumba fanatics who have been coming to my classes since the beginning. So after their wonderful introduction, I jumped right into the following playlist:

Bandolero
Chiquilla Brazil Version
Caliente
Ya llego
Ojos Asi
Tu Mama Y Tu Papa
El Pito (edited to 2 and a half minutes)
Zu Bailito
Los Campeones De La Salsa
Traigo Una Pena
La Batidora
Batuka Bum Bum (clearly, my new favorite song! Thanks Mom!)
